RXSOL Defoam X
RXSOL Defoam X additive is a low-toxicity blend of defoaming agents formulated to control foaming in muds containing freshwater or seawater and in viscous brine systems.
Rxsol Defoam X additive is a wide-application product that reduces the foaming tendencies of water-base muds. It is compatible with freshwater muds, seawater muds, brine systems and all common mud additives. This additive has proven to be especially effective in KCl and seawater muds. It is easy to mix, works quickly, is effective in low concentrations and is a more persistent defoamer than alternative products. Normal treatments of Rxsol Defoam X additive range from 0.05 to 0.10 lb/bbl (0.14 to 0.29 kg/m3). Severe foaming can require treatments as high as 0.2 lb/bbl (0.57 kg/m3 ). The use of Rxsol Defoam X additive is recommended for foam prevention when making periodic treatments with organic materials such as lignosulfonate, lignite and tannin-base additives. Rxsol Defoam X additive should be added in a location which allows the product to be incorporated into the entire circulating mud system. Although this additive is viscous, it should not be diluted. Dilution significantly reduces the effectiveness of the product.
