Cooling Water Biocide to control microbiological growth
Product Description:
Micororganism control in a cooling system is big task. RXSOL BIOCIDE not only control growth of organism in a cooling water, but also hleps to maintain clear water in a cooling system.
RXSOL BIOCIDE MAR is a powerful microbiocide which will control a wide range of troublesome microbes in both open and closed water systems.
Product Application:
Growth of bacteria not only resulting corrosion on metal surface but also reduces heat transfer capacity.
Product Procedure:
Its low label presence like half to one ltr behind per ton of water effectively control bacterial growth in cooling system.

Directions for Use
Closed Cooling Water Circuits
- When vessels remain berthed for extended periods in warm climates, cooling water systems are at high risk of microbial contamination. Such contamination leads to acid formation and depletion of nitrite-based corrosion inhibitors, resulting in under-deposit corrosion.
- Regular bacterial testing using dip slides is strongly recommended.
- If contamination is detected, dose 1.5-2.5 litres/ton of MAR BIOCIDE RXSOL into the system.
- Circulate the system for three days, then discharge the entire contents.
- Flush thoroughly with fresh water before refilling with distilled water and adding a corrosion inhibitor.
- Suitable inhibitors include nitrite-based products (Roccor NB Corrosion Inhibitor, RXSOL 2000) or organic-based products (Cool Water Treat Corrosion Inhibitor), applied as per their respective guidelines.
- Retest for bacteria after 24 hours of operation and repeat the procedure if contamination persists.
- For heavily fouled systems (scale/oil), perform acid cleaning and/or degreasing before disinfecting.
Caution: During disinfection, do not use evaporators or other equipment connected to potable water production.
Lubricating Oils
- Water ingress into lubricating oils (from condensation or cooling water leaks) creates ideal conditions for microbial growth. This can alter oil properties, cause corrosion, emulsification, and filter blockages.
- Regular monitoring and corrective treatment can prevent such problems.
- Recommended decontamination procedure:
- Transfer 80–90% of the lubricating oil to a renovation tank. Heat to 85–95 °C and separate for 12 hours. Continue heating another 12 hours without separation.
- Add 1-1.5 litre/ton MAR BIOCIDE RXSOL to the oil remaining in the sump tank. Circulate for 12–24 hours. Expect filters to clog with dead microbes; clean as necessary.
- Empty and clean the sump tank.
- Return the treated oil from the renovation tank to the sump and top up with fresh oil.
- Alternatively, microbial growth can be slowed by adding 0.5–1.0 litres/ton MAR BIOCIDE RXSOL directly to the lubricating oil, though full disinfection must follow later.
- Always confirm dosage with the oil manufacturer. If microbial contamination has already caused corrosion, replace the oil entirely and consult the manufacturer.
- Before refilling, flush the system for 24 hours with flushing oil containing 0.5–1 litre/ton MAR BIOCIDE RXSOL.
- To prevent reinfection, add 0.1–0.5 litres/ton MAR BIOCIDE RXSOL to the new oil.
