Coal can leave substantial dust, black deposits and oily contamination on cargo hold surfaces. RXSOL CARGO Clean Heavy Duty is designed to help break down these deposits and facilitate their removal during high-pressure washing.

Petcoke Cargo Hold Cleaning

Petroleum coke can produce particularly stubborn black and greasy residues. The heavy-duty alkaline cleaning system is designed for challenging petcoke cleaning operations and can be incorporated into a vessel's cargo hold cleaning procedure.

Black-to-White Cargo Cleaning

When vessels change from heavily contaminating cargoes such as coal or petcoke to subsequent cargoes requiring a clean hold, effective removal of previous cargo residues is essential.

How RXSOL CARGO Clean Heavy Duty Works

The formulation contains selected surfactants and wetting agents designed to improve penetration and surface wetting.

The cleaning process works through a combination of:

Penetration → Wetting → Loosening → Emulsification → High-Pressure Rinsing

This allows stubborn contamination to be loosened from the cargo hold surface before final removal with water and suitable cleaning equipment.

Recommended Application

The exact dosage should be selected according to the cargo residue, degree of contamination, surface condition and cleaning equipment.

For heavy-duty cargo hold cleaning, the product can be applied using suitable spray, foam or high-pressure cleaning equipment.

General Cleaning Procedure

1. Remove loose cargo residues and dry debris from the cargo hold.

2. Prepare the RXSOL CARGO Clean Heavy Duty solution according to the current product TDS and cleaning requirement.

3. Apply the solution uniformly over the contaminated surface.

4. Allow sufficient contact time for the chemical to penetrate and loosen the deposits.

5. Keep the surface wet during the cleaning process where practical.

6. Use high-pressure fresh-water washing to remove loosened contamination.

7. Repeat the treatment on heavily contaminated areas when required.

8. Carry out a final fresh-water rinse.

9. Inspect the cargo hold before loading the next cargo.
