CHLOROPHENOL RED INDICATOR SOLUTION
CHLOROPHENOL RED INDICATOR SOLUTION
Chlorophenol red is an indicator dye that changes color from yellow to violet in the pH range 4.8 to 6.7. The pH of a substance is determined by taking the negative logarithm of the Hydronium ion concentration and the indictor changes color due to the dissociation of H+ ions. The lambda max is at 572 nm.
Chlorophenol red is a pH indicator. It is used as an optical transducer of acetyl cholinesterase inhibition by the analytes. Chlorophenol red is also used to selectively determine chlorine dioxide in drinking water.
CHLOROPHENOL RED INDICATOR SOLUTION Warm 0.1 g of cresol red in a mixture of 2.65 ml of 0.1 M sodium hydroxide and 20 ml of ethanol (95 percent). After the solution is effected, add sufficient .
