Sodium fluoride is a colorless crystalline solid or white powder, or the solid dissolved in a liquid. It is soluble in water. It is noncombustible. It is corrosive to aluminum.
Sodium fluoride varnish is used to prevent caries development, arrest early enamel and even soft dentine caries through promotion of remineralization of carious tooth substance. It is also used to treat tooth hypersensitivity.
Sodium fluoride is an inorganic salt, which is an important source of the fluoride ion for many applications. Formula and structure: The chemical formula of sodium fluoride is NaF and its molar mass is 41.99 g/mol. It is a simple ionic compound, made of the sodium (Na+) cation and fluoride (F-) anion
