Metals Britte is one of popular maintenance and cleaning chemicals in marine, shipping lines and oil field industries. You shouldn't use Acid like, vinegar, or HCl on rust to clean it because, although it initially dissolves the rust, it leaves the steel very active and prone to immediate re-rusting ("flash rusting").
