Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is a compound that can be effectively used for water purification. It is used on a large scale for surface purification, bleaching, odor removal and water disinfection.

Sodium Bisulphite :-
It is used in waste water treatment, in the pulp and paper industry, in the photographic industry and in various other industries as a bleach or dechlorinator. It can also be used to treat flue gases to remove sulfur trioxide (SO3). In drinking water treatment, sodium bisulfite is often added after super chlorination, to reduce the residual chlorine before discharging to the service reservoir.
