Scale Inhibitor Open Cooling Water System

SKU: RXSOL-43-3302-025

Scale Inhibitor for Open Cooling Water Systems is a high-performance liquid antiscalant and dispersant specially formulated for open recirculating cooling water systems operating under high hardness and high pH conditions.

The product effectively prevents deposition of:
  • Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃)
  • Calcium Sulphate (CaSO₄)
  • Iron deposits
  • Suspended solids fouling

It works through a combination of threshold inhibition, crystal distortion, and dispersion mechanisms, ensuring maximum heat transfer efficiency and system reliability.

Application

Scale Inhibitor for Cooling Water Systems

Scaling is caused in membranes because the level of hardness salts in the water becomes highly concentrated as it passes through the RO unit. In smaller units scale formation can be prevented by base exchange softening the make-up water but for larger systems that is very expensive. We have developed a range of easy to handle, cost-effective RO Antiscalant which increase the solubility of the hardness salts so they remain in solution rather than forming scale on the membrane. Our cost-effective RO antiscalants will inhibit a wide range of foulants including calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, barium sulphate, strontium sulphate, calcium fluoride, silica and iron.

RO Antiscalants are dosed directly to the RO feed water tank or feedwater line (after pretreatment) at the recommended dosage of 1-3 mg/L and maximum dosage at 8mg/L, subject to inlet water quality and parameters is respect of Calcium Hardness, Iron, TDS, Alkalinity, pH and silica content. Maximum dilution should be 10% with RO or DI water for temperature less than 30 deg C. For higher temperature the dilution ratio can increase.

A high-performance Antiscalant for RO systems formulated to prevent scale formation and fouling on membrane surfaces. It effectively controls calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium, and strontium scales, even at high recovery rates. The product maintains optimal membrane performance and extends RO membrane life. Suitable for brackish water, seawater, and wastewater reclamation RO systems.

Useful in following scale inhibition treatment

  • Open recirculating cooling water systems
  • Cooling towers
  • Evaporative condensers
  • Industrial heat exchangers
  • HVAC cooling circuits
  • Power plants
  • Petrochemical & refinery cooling systems

Technical Specification

  • Compatible with the polyamide and cellulose acetate RO membranes of the leading manufacturers.

Scale Inhibitor for Cooling Water Systems is a liquid antiscalant designed to inhibit scale in cellulose acetate and polyamide membrane separation systems. The formulation contains a 35% by weight solution of poly acid that has a tight molecular weight range of 2000.

This product is designed for use in waters that do not have a high potential for colloidal and silt fouling of RO membrane surfaces (i.e. groundwater applications).

This Scale Inhibitor by RXSOL can be injected neat or diluted and a site‐specific dosage can be determined.

Application:

Scale Inhibitor Cooling Tower's  performance is achieved when the chemical is injected downstream of multimedia filters and upstream of cartridge filters. For maximum effectiveness, it should be added prior to the static mixer or cartridge filter housing. For potable  the maximum dosage is 10 mg/L. Maximum dilution is 10% with RO permeate or DI water
