RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant)
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) is a proprietary tannin-based product used for rheology control in water-based muds. It is very effective for rheology control in areas with the strictest environmental regulations. It is effective in low concentrations without requiring the use of caustic soda.
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) contains an organic polymer of moderate length. It is chemically enhanced to provide more charge sites for better
dispersion. The charge sites are attravcted to mud solids th at have opposite charges and satisfies those charges. This reduces the attraction of the particles for each other. Excess materi al in the electrolyte helps to repel solids from each other. Due to its small molecular size Rxsol ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) may be adsorbed into the interlayer area of clays causing dispersion of larger clay particles.
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) is used as a viscosity reducer in water based drilling fluids. It is particularly applicable in an elevated pH or high chloride environment. A profound effect on Yield Point and Gel strengths can be expected with its use. In addition fluid loss is reduced with the addition of Rxsol ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant). Rxsol ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) is somewhat less effective in the presence of water phase contamin ents.
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) can be used in freshwater, seawater and salt water drilling fluids, as a conditioner for drilling fluids used as packer fluids and in cement pre-flushes. The concentration of material is effective in low pH applications.
Low pH Deflocculant System : 1 to 4 ppb (3.0 to 11 kg/m3) depending on MBT & mud weight
Defoamer in salt water muds : 0.1 to 0.25 ppb (0.3 to 2.0 kg/m3)
Top hole and low solids, semi-dispersed muds : 0.1 to 0.5 ppb (0.3 to 2.0 kg/m3)
Supplement CF lignosulfonate, lignite muds : Ratio of 4 CF lignosulfonate or lignite to 1 CF Deflocculant
Deep, hot drilling where lignosulfonates degrade : Ratio of 2-4 lignosulfonate to 1 CF Deflocculant
Saturated salt, inhibited or contaminated muds : 0.25 to 3.0 ppb (0.7 to 9.0 kg/m3)
Conditioning drilling mud for packer mud (any density) : 0.5 to 3.0 ppb (2.0 to 9.0 kg/m3) for shear strength control
Inhibited KCl, lime, or GYP muds : 0.5 to 3.0 ppb (6.0 to 9.0 kg/m3)
Advantage :
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) is effective in drilling muds over awide pH range. It is readily soluble in water and may be used in conjuncti on with Lignites and Lignosulfonates to stabilize the flow of properties of water base muds at elevated temperatures. Being a po lyphenolic type material, it also acts as a corrosion inhibitor by removing dissolved oxygen from the mud. RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) acts to thi n freshwater, seawater, and brine water mud systems.
RXSOL ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) requires no caustic soda for activation of the product in the mud, but a pH of 9.0 to 11.0 is recommended. Depending on the mud type, Rxsol ORG - 13 (CF Deflocculant) can be used in concentrations from 0.1 ppb for native weight muds, and up to 2.0 ppb for weighted dispersed muds.
