Fabric Conditioner Chemicals are applied to refurbish garments after drycleaning. Typically, these garments can include suedes, leathers, silks, wools and vinyls. These chemicals are usually applied by spraying the garment (using a spray bottle or aerosol spray). Plasticizers such as di-N-butyl phthalate and di-2-ethylhexyl adipate are used to re-condition vinyl garments.

Plastics

DBP is used as a plasticizer in plastics to make them softer and more flexible. It's used in a variety of consumer products, such as shower curtains, raincoats, food wraps, and car interiors. 

Nail polish

DBP is used as a solvent for dyes and a plasticizer to prevent nail polish from becoming brittle. 

Cosmetics

DBP is used as a fragrance ingredient in many cosmetics, but it's not always listed on the label. 

Other uses

DBP is also used in adhesives, printing inks, sealants, grouting agents, perfumes, deodorants, hair sprays, insecticides, and as a solid rocket propellant.
