Application & Dosage

In particular, RXSOL-40-4028 creates an insoluble polymeric surface complex on copper and its alloys, and also reacts with copper in solution. RXSOL-40-4028 also works synergistically with other inhibitors to effectively control the corrosion of steel and aluminium in the system.

Control and dosage of RXSOL-40-4028 - The dosage of RXSOL-40-4028 required varies widely with different applications.

Recommended Dosing

These values refer to active triazole concentration in circulating water, not the amount of commercial product.

Application

Indicative Active Triazole Target

Open cooling tower – initial treatment

10–20 ppm

Open cooling tower – maintenance

1–3 ppm

Closed cooling water system

2–10 ppm, according to metallurgy and program

Aggressive water conditions

Determine from corrosion testing

Typical open-tower passivation and maintenance ranges are supported by published cooling-water treatment guidance. Closed-loop requirements can vary significantly, particularly with mixed metallurgy.

For a product containing 19.8% active triazole, a theoretical 5 ppm active treatment in 100,000 litres requires approximately 2.53 kg of product, excluding consumption and system losses.

Typical initial dosage for an untreated system is 8 liters of product per 1000 liters of water.
